7th GRADE MATH EXAM REMINDERS!
1. THE BIG DAY – Your exam will be given on Thursday, May 26th from 8:00-10:00.
2. WHAT YOU WILL GET – You will get your exam packet, which has two blank back pages for scratch work, a Scan-Tron, and a copy of textbook page 826 + the distance and midpoint formulas (advanced classes).
3. SHOWING YOUR WORK – You will have scratch paper on the exam, BUT only work that is WRITTEN WITH THE PROBLEM will be graded for partial credit. In other words, we’ve left you space to work problems on the test and that is the work that will be graded. Use the scratch paper for diagrams, computations, and other work that doesn’t need to be graded.
4. TUTORIAL – The exam tutorial will be held on Wednesday, May 25th from 10:15-11:00. It will be PACKED, so don’t wait until then to ask questions!
5. CALCULATORS – DON’T FORGET YOUR CALCULATOR!!! If you come to the exam without a calculator, you will have to take it without one. I cannot lend you one. Other teachers cannot lend you one. Other students won’t want to lend you one. And if you’re caught sharing a calculator during the exam, it will be considered cheating. Oh and you will get a zero on the exam. It would not be good...
Also, make sure your batteries are fresh. If your batteries die during the exam, see the paragraph above.
6. SUPPLIES – In addition to your calculator, you should bring multiple #2 pencils to the exam. You will have to use Scan-Trons, so make sure your pencils are #2! You will also need a RULER, as I won't have enough for everyone. Scratch paper will be attached to the back of your exam, so you won’t need any. Also, see #3 above!
7. STUDYING – The best plan is to work problems. Rework old tests and quizzes, work the pack posted online, make your own tests and quizzes using problems from the textbook, etc.
